The patient had done well (status post chemo and radiation) up to December of 06 at which time she presented to her ENT with increasing nose bleeding which seems to be coming mostly from the left side. On examination, externally, there was swelling along the left nasal alar groove in the area of the lateral rhinotomy incision. In the right maxillary sinus there was a small swollen irregular polypoid lesion (biopsied). In the left superior nasal wall just posterior to the vestibule there is a slightly irregular erythematous mass (biopsied). This time, the biopsies were signed out as a clinicopathologically distinctive tumor as define by the WHO (not SCC). Higher power shown (20x). |
