Great case. I've never seen EEE before - I presume that the outcome wasn't good. Out of curiosity (and to cause a public panic) what is the mortality rate (and incidence) of eastern equine encephalitis? I guess I could look it up if I weren't so lasy.

The mortality rate is higher in EEE than in any other arboviral encephalitis. I believe it's around 30%, but don't quote me on that. A significant percentage of survivors have permanent neurological deficits.
